Traversing 32,000 miles across 35 countries and six continents in eight months on a motorcycle is an impressive feat. It’s even more impressive when it’s done by a 23-year-old man all by himself. British rider Kane Avellano just broke the Guinness World Record for youngest person to circumnavigate the Earth by motorcycle solo. He finished this trek one day before his 24th birthday.
Avellano’s chariot was a modern Triumph Bonneville, certainly not a touring or adventure bike. It’s outfitted with some heavy-duty saddlebags and a tank bag to carry his stuff, but it still wasn’t much cargo considering the length of the voyage, which he called the BonnieTour. How would you pack a couple saddlebags for eight months?
No one said it could be done! I spent months and countless hours organising 50,000 pieces of evidence meticulously, but it’s official! I’m now the Guinness World Record Holder for the Youngest Person to Circumnavigate the World by Motorcycle! Bonnie and I have overcome a lot of obstacles to get to this point, we spent 233 days riding over 32,000 miles through over 35 countries, we rode through tropical storms, desert heat, we slept on many roadsides and met hundreds of amazing people from around the world! We got through the hard times in the Himalayas, we persevered and improvised when things got tough and we never stopped pushing to the finish line for a record that seemed impossible. A record like this doesn’t just belong to me, countless people helped me throughout this adventure and I can’t thank you all enough and hope our paths cross again so I can return the favours. I also want to thank everyone that donated to Unicef. Raising money and more importantly, awareness for Unicef was a large part of my trip, In the end, we raised £2292 and together we’ve improved the lives of many children! THE NEXT ADVENTURE.... I can’t stop thinking about “The Next Adventure”. I’ve come up with many ideas and have settled on one theme. Flying. The next adventure will be a Solo Circumnavigation by Aircraft. I don’t know how to fly, I don’t have a plane, but I have the same unrelenting determination as before and this time I want to share it with you all. To my knowledge, this circumnavigation will make me the first person to circumnavigate the world by land and air (solo) #bonnietour #travel #adventure #worldrecord #guinnessworldrecord #motorcycle #fortheride #triumph #triumphofficial #agv #dainesecrew #dartflyscreen #caferacers #croig #caferacerporn #advrider #circumnavigation #bonneville #triumphbonneville #justdoit

He didn’t just do this for fun, Avellano was riding for a reason. Along the way, he raised almost $3,000 for Unicef. He got attention on his “bonnietour” Instagram account and used that opportunity to tell his followers about Unicef and the good work that they do, especially for impoverished children in danger.
Speaking of his Instagram account, he got incredible picture—lots of them. Avellano rarely looks worn out from the ride and almost always has a smile on his face in his many photos of his amazing adventure. There are also plenty of pictures of his Bonneville working as hard as it can. Check it out and get lost scrolling away.
If there are any ambitious 22-year olds reading this, saddle up and see if you can break Avellano’s impressive record.
