In its 21 seasons, The Bachelor has consistently captured the attention of millions of Americans. In 2015, Bachelor Chris Soules captured the hearts of many when he went on an epic journey for true love (or something like that). Unfortunately for those fans, his fiancé, Whitney Bischoff, broke off the engagement that same year and it looks like Soules has fallen into series of bad choices.
Soules allegedly crashed his Chevy Silverado into the rear of a John Deere tractor Monday evening causing the tractor to careen into a ditch, killing the operator, 66-year-old Kenneth E. Mosher, according to local news station KTVU Fox 2. The accident took place on County Highway 45, 15 miles south of Soules' farm in Arlington, Iowa. Soules then allegedly attempted to flee the scene but was identified by witnesses and arrested shortly after. Arresting officers from Buchanan County Sheriff's Office found alcoholic beverage containers in the car at the time of the crash, according to the report.
Soules was not charged with DUI or DWI but was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and is currently being held on $10,000 bail, according to the report. Fleeing the scene of a fatal accident is a Class D felony in the state of Iowa and punishable by up to five years in prison. It is unclear when his next court date is.
With this in mind, it doesn't matter if you are going a block or 100 miles, driving under the influence is a deadly mistake that can ruin your life and the life of others in a heartbeat.
